Denpomal Banjarmasin conducted a reconstruction of the brutal murder case of female journalist Juwita in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, by Indonesian Navy soldier Jumran. During the reconstruction on Saturday, April 5th, Jumran, now bald and dressed in an orange detainee shirt with a “suspect” tag on his chest, reenacted the crime smoothly, as reported by detikKalimantan. The horrific incident saw Juwita, a journalist, killed by Jumran.
The reconstruction, involving 33 scenes, took place on Trans Kalimantan Road, Cempaka District. It revealed how Jumran strangled Juwita to death by pinning her down in a car. The heinous act, a premeditated murder, unfolded with Jumran alone in the vehicle while Juwita’s motorbike remained at a shopping center.
Following the murder, Jumran instructed someone to bring Juwita’s motorbike, which he then staged to appear as if damaged from a fall. Additionally, after killing the journalist, Jumran destroyed her phone to erase evidence of sexual assault and washed the bike to remove his fingerprints. Juwita’s body was initially found by the roadside, disguised as an accident victim.
Present at the reconstruction, the victim’s family lawyer, Dedi Sugianto, affirmed that Jumran’s calm and well-prepared actions, from the initial meeting to placing the body by the road alongside the victim’s vehicle, indicated a meticulously planned murder.
Dedi, as quoted by Antara, emphasized that every move during the reenactment, including washing the bike before staging the scene, pointed towards a carefully orchestrated crime.
